Amar & Lion - Dusty Rose & Gold Wedding Stationery

Updated: Oct 22, 2021

On June 25, 2021, Amar Hunjan & Lion Miretski celebrated their love at a beautiful wedding in the GTA. Pearl Invitations were privileged to be able to be a part of their day by providing save the dates, wedding invitations, seating cards, a welcome sign, and various other day of wedding stationery. The couple wanted to be able to tie in their theme by bringing in their colour scheme of dusty rose & gold to their wedding stationery as well as include some floral elements to match the bridal bouquet. In this blog, we’re going to share with you their love story and details from their elegant wedding day.

About Amar & Lion

Amar & Lion have been best friends since high school and finally started dating during their first year of university. After being together for over 10 years, when it came time to propose, Amar admitted that surprising her was going to be quite the challenge! She’s very much a planner at heart and liked to know what was going on. So Lion had to get a little creative and took advantage of the fact that Amar works for her family business. Amar was convinced it was time for her annual performance review at work but instead walked into the boardroom with rose petals, champagne & Lion, waiting there for her. This was such a sweet, unexpected surprise and of course, she said YES!

The Wedding Ceremony

Fast forward to June 25, 2021 on a beautiful (albeit a little rainy) Friday afternoon, Amar & Lion tied the knot at Ascott Parc in Vaughan, ON! This venue had a variety of options and Amar had her heart set on having the ceremony outside. The weather, however, made that a little bit of a challenge. Lion & his groomsmen made the decision to use a tented area for the ceremony to bring in the outdoors but a little more weatherproof! They quickly put together the ceremony venue about an hour before the ceremony started... just in time for the rain to start coming down. It ended up being the best decision and they turned it into the most elegant space, with a custom welcome sign by Pearl Invitations, white drapery, & chandeliers hanging from the tent so beautifully. In fact, Amar walked down the aisle not even knowing they were doing the ceremony there, so it was a great surprise to her as well. Amar said “pick a man who knows what you want and can make the tough decisions when you can’t”. We couldn’t agree more - what a perfect match!

The ceremony was nothing short of spectacular. Amar walked down the aisle with her father to “can’t help falling in love with you” played live by a violinist and cellist. Looking ahead to her groom she remembers the look on his face with pure tears of joy. The ceremony itself was a mixture of traditional Christian & Jewish elements to reflect the couple. The whole ceremony was so romantic and after 10 years, they finally both got to say “I Do” and marry their best friend!

Backyard Wedding Reception

That evening, they headed to Lion’s parents backyard for their wedding reception. This magical outdoor ceremony could only be described as a fairytale with sentiments of A Midsummer’s Night’s Dream. The space was decorated with candles, cherry blossoms and beautiful shades of dusty rose, gold, purples and whites. It was whimsical, dreamy and so elegant.

The guests enjoyed a delicious three course plated Italian dinner catered by Romano’s Restaurant. Timeless place cards were provided by Pearl Invitations. They also had a traditional cake cutting, cutting into their two tier, white & gold cake with pink sugar flowers by Cake Creations by Michelle.

After the dinner was done, everyone took to the dance floor and danced the night away on the paved area in the backyard. The whole evening was so special and even the rain couldn’t stop them from having an amazing time together.

Tying Together the Theme with Dusty Rose & Gold Wedding Stationery

Wedding Invitation by Pearl Invitations | Dusty Rose & Gold Wedding Stationery

When we first met with Amar & Lion, we loved their vision of the dusty rose & gold theme. Amar knew she had beautiful florals and wanted those elements to also be seen in the stationery as well. Using the dusty rose & gold wedding stationery theme, we worked together on save the dates, wedding invitations, seating cards, and a welcome sign. We also created multiple types of signs for the favours including labels for their succulent wedding favours.

One of the things that was really important to Amar (and many other 2020/2021 couples) was to have no mention of the pandemic in the wording & stationery. She wanted it to feel as normal as possible and focus on their many years together. We loved this as it made for a really genuine, thoughtful wedding with the focus on love and not on loss. That being said, due to number restrictions we did decide to do two separate invitations for the ceremony & reception to make sure they could send the invites to the appropriate guests. They also included their wedding hashtag which was #oneinamylion (yes, so creative!) so their guests could share their photos with the couple too.

Testimonials from Amar & Lion

We loved working with Amar & Lion on their wedding stationery, and asked them to share what it was like working with us:

“Working with Pearl Invitations was such a good experience. I got to know about the company through my cousin-in-law. I remember before even getting engaged, she had shared Susana’s info with me multiple times hinting that when the time came, I needed to use her because her talent and service was so great. She was not wrong. Susana is so creative and really bends over backwards for her clients. I can’t believe she got everything done during the time of my wedding. Again, we got married at the end of June, when things were just starting to open up, so I was planning my wedding within a month's time. It was absolutely crazy and stressful, but Susana was a great vendor to work with and made the whole process easy. She met all the deadlines I needed, gave me great advice (since I am SO indecisive) and the quality of her work is excellent.”

If you would like to work with Pearl Invitations on your wedding stationery, get in touch so we can help make your day just as memorable as Amar & Lion’s was.
